What started as a single day of testimony at the Texas Capitol became law. House Bill 3214, which Johnny testified in support of on April 1, 2025, was passed by the Texas Legislature and took effect September 1, 2025.
The bill reduces the required journeyman plumber experience from four years to two before a plumber can sit for their master plumber exam — cutting the total path to licensure from roughly eight years to six. It passed the Texas House 120–2 and was signed into law, with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners adopting the updated rules in September 2025.
The change directly addresses a growing shortage of licensed master plumbers in Texas — one of the fastest-growing states in the country. More qualified master plumbers means shorter waits, more competition, and better service for homeowners across the state. Nobility Plumbing is proud to have played a small part in making it happen.

What most homeowners don't know is that virtually every major manufacturer, including Rinnai, Navien, Rheem, and Noritz, requires annual descaling and maintenance as a condition of their warranty.
